Hardware Cloth Specifications

Hardware cloth is welded from low-carbon steel wire, spot-welded at every crossing for a rigid, dimensionally stable square grid. Galvanized before or after welding for corrosion resistance — with optional PVC coating — it is widely used for animal cages, poultry pens, garden and porch fencing, window guards and construction partitions.

Wire Diameter

Every crossing is spot-welded from low-carbon steel wire from 0.7 mm to 4.0 mm. Strong, uniform welds give the mesh its strength, so it keeps its shape under tension — whether it is cut for a cage panel, a fence run or a window guard.

Wire diameter can be matched to the opening size and the load your project demands: heavier wire gives a stiffer panel, lighter wire is easier to cut and form.

Mesh Opening

Hardware cloth is welded in square openings from 1/4 in to 2 in, with custom openings on request. The welded structure keeps the grid rigid and dimensionally stable — openings do not shift or stretch in use, so the mesh stays true to the size you order.

Choose a smaller opening for pest screening and small-animal housing, or a larger opening for fencing and protection where airflow and visibility matter.

Surface Treatment

Choose the finish that suits your environment: galvanized before welding, hot-dip galvanized after welding for long outdoor service, or PVC coated in green or black for a clean, long-lasting appearance.

Each finish protects the mesh against rust and extends its working life — tell us where the mesh will be used and we will recommend the right treatment.

Export Packaging

Rolls are wrapped in moisture-proof film, packed on export pallets and strapped for safe ocean transport.

Cut sheets and custom packaging to your destination port are both available on request — ask us for packing details and loading photos when you order.
